15. I am Ancient
Through living a life that others
Before me have lived,
And a life that others
After me will live,
I am both ancient
And yet to be born.
...............
My sainted late mother's birthday is 'reputed' to be 9th September 1935. The truth is that the date in her birth certificate is only an estimate because in the old day, parents are less finicky about being accurate as to the dates of their offspring. Often, because they live in a remote village, they will only make the report if they ever get to the nearest town, and that could be months later.

Or sometimes, like my father's elder brother, Uncle Latiff's birth certificate was lost during the Japanese Occupation of Malaya between 1941 - 1945. Then when he pops over to make a declaration after the war, for some bewildering reason, he stated his age to be younger by a couple of years. Indeed, younger even than my father, much to my dad's amusement.
The truth is we are all older. Because our spiritual journey is not counted by the number of years we were born, but by the ages and epochs of history which defines us. We are ancient, sunshine, by the very nationality, race, religion or ideology that we cultivate in our lives.
I am one of those who were born into a Muslim family, but it was only much later that my attention was brought to the stories of the Prophets of God, from Adam to Jesus, and finally unto the history of Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets (pbuh). But the quirky thing is that once you are exposed to his history, you too become a chapter of his book, however small and insignificant you think you are, for the Story of Muhammad has not ended, and ultimately, everyone is drawn into this Most Magnificent Opus of God's Creation.
Something to think about, sunshine, on this cool grey Monday morning. You are a chapter in a Bestseller.

Hate has no place in Islam
Love will show the Way
