God's Late and Quick Reply to Prayers - things that make you go hmm...
“Example?” I ventured further.
Hmm. Too true.

Hate, Love, Expectations, Attachments and the Cure

Undying love? But I thought you promised that to Kate Winslet already.
- Know God and know yourself.
- Be in Love and Servanthood towards God.
- Be in Love and Servanthood towards all mankind.
- Exemplify tolerance, kindness, mercy and chivalry towards all of Creation.
Take care, sunshine. And if you are in love, alhamdulillah!

Your Children is not "You Version No.2" - Prose of Ramadhan Part 28
Testing his father's chair for size. But I am not adamant that Mikhail follows in my footsteps.
This is Mikhail and not Taufiq Version 2.
Mikhail fasted most of Ramadhan last year, but then he wasn't schooling. Nowadays, with school, then later out for his Kumon maths tuition, he gets hungry and thirsty, a fact he made patently clear to everyone in the house. So I thought that he can have a break, especially on Monday, the beginning of his school week ("I hate Mondaaaays...!" He would bleat). Oh well, perhaps I underestimate my son's resolve. When I drove him to school this morning, I asked and he said that he was fasting - "Otherwise, why would l wake up for sahur, Papa!"
"West Point? Ahh... thanks but no thanks." said Amirul.

See you later, Papa! I will be on my way!

When you are down in the dumps, look up.
I was walking in the back lane of my office, a rather messy little alley through which the garbage trucks trundle through every morning. Then I notice, framed between the two shoplots the sight of the sky, the clouds and the sunshine. So I quickly grabbed my phone and took a picture.Friday, May 20, 2011
My Mother, the Rice People and the Nail Demon
In her dedicated mission for Taufiq to get some 'smarts', I was enrolled as a student into a University. Did I get them smarts? I don't know, but I certainly got fatter. (From right; the sinner, me mum, Raja Nushirwan, Faizal and the shadowy apparition taking the picture is Shamsul)
Even at that young age, I had a strong sense of self-preservation. Never mind that I have always been leaving rice unfinished in my plate and still woke up the next morning on dry land and in my bed. Nevermind that any other 5 year old kid would doubt the physical ability of cooked white rice to carry anyone off anywhere, I believed my mom, you see.
Signs of my dubious intellectual standards didn't just stop there. Up to 8 years old at least, I thought that all those people being gunned down or falling off buildings in television dramas and action movies actually do in fact die. Concepts of stuntmen and special effects were unknown to me back then, but strangely I had some grasp of insurance - "Hmm...", I thought, "Maybe these are really poor people, and they take life insurance before voluntarily dying on camera so that their family can pick up the insurance claim. How sad!"
So not only can I really be dumb, but I can be stubbornly ignorant. And that is why my mother is a saint for loving me, and despite all evidence to the contrary, believing that her son is smart and would perhaps prove to be a productive human being some day. She is a mum, you see. And I guess all mothers are super-optimistic that way about their children. God bless their sweet souls...

God Makes a Point in a Big Way. Careful!
Thursday, December 9, 2010
God is Eternal/Internal, and a 6-year old question that I have not answered
.
To heal the lameness of your limbs,
The blindness of your hearts,
The deafness of your ears,
And tame the obstinacy of your mind.
We can teach you,
To read signs and signposts,
Maps and compasses,
Omens and ciphers,
Books and letters,
That continuously whisper;
This way, o’ Seeker, this way!
Yea, all these we can teach you, and more.
But o’ acolytes of your own image,
Apostles of your private idols,
Are you willing to listen and learn?
Are you willing to listen and obey?
……….
My guess is as good as yours. Did the person intend to write ‘God is Eternal’? Or is the message suppose to read ‘God is Internal’? Was the writer male or female? Was he/she perhaps drunk? (My neighbourhood is famous for its watering holes)
If you wish to plumb down into mass phobia, you may ask why is the second ‘E’ facing backwards and the ‘A’ upside down. Is this some Masonic device (feel free to replace ‘Masonic’ with another favourite devilish secret society), full of diabolical meaning and ill-intention? Or perhaps it is merely an indictment of the quality of edoocasyen in our skools?
Being the optimist, I am prepared to take the words as candies for me. A little reminder from the Benevolent Fate that in the most unlikely of places you may find signs…
This way, o’ Seeker, this way!

Footnote: ‘Association III’ is from chapter 2, ‘The Dam.Munir.Ana’ (circa Nov 2004). I met a wise man that year, and he did ask of me, are you willing to listen and obey?
6 years on, I have still not replied him.

RUN from this world!

And this world will
Run after you!,
Said my Master.
"I am, I am!",
I replied, huffing
And puffing my
Way away.
"But why do you
Keep glancing back?"
Queried my Master.
"I don't want to waste all
My effort, Master."
I answered.
"I just want to be
Sure that the world
Is indeed chasing after me."

A deeply PERSONAL thinGY stuffs...

Love puts the roof over our heads,
Love is the cure to all
Our sorrows and
Heartaches.
Love is perfect,
But we are imperfect,
So we become torn,
Pulled left to right,
Front and back.
Yet,
If man were perfect,
What need would he
Have for love from
Anyone at all?
Imperfection is
The Lord's gift
That compels us
To seek Him...,
That compels us
To seek Each other.
So do not despair,
And say not unto me,
That our Lord
Does not
Care.
And ask not of God,
That HE be contented
With us,
When we are not
Contented with Him...
Oh my Love,...
By my words
I am undone.
Forgive Me.
...........................................................
From current and untitled chapter
...........................................................
The truth is, when I speak of love, I shame the word, as I am unworthy. But God has given me eyes to see, ears to hear, a heart to feel and hands to write with. And I guess I am meant to share it with you, my pretties. May God, Who has given me all these though I am unworthy, grace your days and nights in sweet solace. For I know that you at least, you are worthy!
Salams.

You are still trying to be something!

with his Master when he saw a Muslim standing under a tree.
He gestured to the man and said to his Master,
"Look, Master. A Muslim!"
"No.", replied the Master, patiently.
"He is merely a something trying to be a human being.
Once he has succeeded in becoming a human being,
He can try to be a decent man.
And if he has achieved that, He may try to be a believer.
When he has attained that station, At last, he can then try to be a Muslim."
"Oh.", the boy said.
The two continued walking, until finally,
Unable to contain his curiosity any longer, the murid asked,
"And what about me, Master?"
"You, Taufiq? Why, you are none of the above.
You are still trying to be something."

God, the Lord Least Demanding, the Most Deserving.

For He knows me absolutely
And therefore has absolutely no
Unreasonable expectations.
But people,
Whao, people are
Infinitely more demanding.
