Love means a family eating together

The writer at a sea side picnic. Some 38 years ago.
10. No words necessary
Words are a necessary medium
For the transmission of ideas,
But no words are necessary
For the transmission of experiences.

Though you may find us scouring books,
Know ye that what we look for
Is not contained in the books,
But in the heart of believers
In whatever form that they may be wearing.

Books (and blogs) are useful references. And the words contained in them are all useful references too. It is only the meaning of words that take on real tangible substance. So if you wish for some safety and success in this world, always carry a good dictionary. The best dictionary of all is the Dictionary of Love. And I saw it at breakfast today, when I witnessed a Chinese family on the next table happily consuming their morning treat. But the best treat of all was a one-year old toddler who sat in the baby-chair, who was obviously the light and joy in the eyes of her mother, and her attentive grandma and grandpa.

I think that God has made all of creation for us to discern and sense His manifestations of Love. Our job is just to notice it, and perhaps record it somewhere. So this is gonna be my entry today for the meaning of love; 'Love' means a family eating together. What other definitions of love have you yourself encountered in your own day? Happy witnessing, sunshine.

A Drama During Lunch. Literally!

Haiya...! Why so noisy ma. I am trying to eat here, you are not in a TV drama!
I was having a late lunch with Alexander in the establishment near my office. While we were musing over our drinks, I noticed a chinese couple walking towards the restaurant. I was drawn to the woman especially because she was wearing the most unlikely yellow spectacles, and she had the most admirable pair of buck teeth that I have ever seen. With her was her beau, a gentleman in his early 40s. And they were particularly noisy. After a minute, they wandered away, but only to stand at the end of the shop block, before coming back again. What on earth is going on?

I commented to Alex, "You know bro, you gotta look at this Chinese couple. They are so loud, and the woman is wearing the most ridiculous spectacle that I cannot accept that this can actually happen in real life." Alex turned around while I continued, "You know, Alex, I just wanna start looking around for a crew and camera. It's like a freakin' television show, bro!" Alex chuckled, but then he looked past me and ejaculated, "Hey! There IS a crew and camera. Look, they are behind you!"
Oh, you are! Oopsie.
And damn if they were not. A couple of shops behind me was the crew with the cameraman, taking (I guess) a long shot of the scene playing out right in front of me. Hehehe. Upon closer ogling at the woman, I also noticed that the buck teeth was of course fake.

As it turned out they were shooting for a local Chinese (Cantonese)_sitcom. We stayed around for awhile, and were amused to find that Jamie, our worthy waitress, got a bit role. My back faced the camera crew so I kept disturbing Alex and asking, "Hey... hey, am I in the shot? Am I in the shot?" Alas, not.

No prose today, sunshine. Just a little drama during lunch.
Action!
